Practice cooking daily as a way to improve skill and lower the weekly cost for food.

Cook at least one meal a day. Optimally, alternating between breakfast
lunch and dinner.

Try to keep the average cost of a meal below $5.  Pick a few meals that you like to eat that you don't mind eating often. This will give you a starting set of meals that you are able to prepare very well over time.
