1. The first step involved in writing stories is reading a lot of books, stories, historical books, newspapers, and journals. The library is best place to go to find all sorts of books that you can use for inspiration. The more you read, the better you can understand the structure of what makes a good story.

2. Practice writing stories for an hour on daily basis. Don't worry about getting your writing “right”, just practice getting your ideas on paper.

3. When interacting with people; neighbors, friends, etc; listen carefully, you can get lots of plots and ideas for stories just by interacting with others.

4. After writing some stories, take time to review what you have written. This can help you correct your mistakes and improve you writing style.
