Mechanical Turk can seem a little intimidating at first. It may also seem not worth the trouble to do tasks, only to earn a few cents. But, the following steps will show you how to make a reasonable amount of money within a few weeks.

1. The first step I do when searching for tasks is to start off looking at only tasks above a certain amount. I often begin by searching for tasks above $.20, and then I organize the list starting with most recently created. You can choose any amount, though, as I often search again with $.50 or $.60.

2. After I complete as many tasks as I choose from the first step, I search for tasks again. This time, I search for any tasks that are at least $.02 or $.03, and then I organize the list by most HITs first. In this way, you can find a task that requires very little time, and you can repeat the task over and over, making a good bit of money.

3. The last search I do is for certain requesters who I know have excellent tasks or have the same task offered each day. As you use Mechanical Turk more often, you will being to develop of list of requesters that you personally enjoy.

Follow these steps at least once a day, and you may easily earn $50 or more in less than a month! Watch out, though. Avoid any requests which seem too good to be true. Some requests are worth over $3 and ask for your email address, phone number, name, etc. Try to avoid these unless you feel certain that it is safe. You will be fine if you stick with surveys, tests, and any other tasks which only require basic information about yourself. Enjoy!
